About Our School
La Cueva High School opened its doors in the fall of 1986 with 1200 juniors, sophomores, and freshmen. From the beginning, Principal Allen Krumm and the staff of 70 were committed to the motto “Where Excellence is a Habit.” Currently, La Cueva is an increasingly diverse, large comprehensive high school with an enrollment of approximately 1,800 students. 48% of our students are Caucasian, 36% are Hispanic, 11% are Asian, 2% are Native American and 2% are African American. We accept transfer students from all over the district resulting in nearly 15% of our population coming from outside La Cueva’s boundaries. 16% of La Cueva’s students participate in the Free and Reduced Lunch Program and receive additional support, if needed, to ensure full access to all of La Cueva’s elective and extra-curricular offerings.
