Gifted Mentorship (ACE)

Students in Gifted Mentorship (ACE) programs give up traditional elective time to explore career options.  These students want an edge in today's competitive job market and they are eager to learn more about the careers they plan to pursue.  ACE students want to make every minute of school count and they choose this class for its focus on real world skills and immediately applicable coursework.  ACE is an incredible program that really does change the lives of students.

Students enrolled in Gifted Mentorship may participate in their sophomore, junior, and senior years.  Students can select different professions in which to study or can choose only one career that is of high interest to them and select different sites each year in that field.

Students work approximately 5 hours a week shadowing a professional in the community.  They receive 0.5 elective credits per semester.

Students attend a weekly seminar at lunch on Tuesday for veteran students and Wednesday for first year students. At this time, students work on resumes, interview skills, and other activities to prepare them for the ultimate experience at their mentorship sites.
